Emirate of Abu Dhabi continues its upward growth trajectory, with its population approxmimately at 4.14 million in 2024. The population grew by 7.5% in 2024, building on the growth rate recorded in 2023. Over the past decade, Abu Dhabi’s population has increased significantly—rising from approximately 2.74 million in 2014 to approxmimately 4.14 million in 2024, representing a total growth of 51%. This steady and substantial increase reflects the emirate’s continuous economic expansion, infrastructure development, and its strong ability to attract a diverse workforce.

All three regions of Abu Dhabi Emirate recorded a population increase in 2024, led by the Abu Dhabi Region which showed a growth by 8.8%, followed by Al Ain Region that recorded an increase by 4.4%, and finally Al Dhafra Region which rose by 6.2%.
Abu Dhabi’s region remains the heart of the emirate, home to over two-thirds (68%) of the population, while Al Ain Region accounts for 24%, and Al Dhafra Region for 8%.
In the Abu Dhabi Region, the most populated districts include Musaffah, Al Danah, and Mohamed Bin Zayed City. In Al Ain, the most populated districts are the Central District, Al Aamerah, and the Industrial Area.
Meanwhile, in Al Dhafra, the most populated districts include Ghiyathi, Zayed City, and Jabal Al Dhannah. These districts represent the core residential and economic hubs across the emirate.
